Enjoy the thrills of tobogganing
You’re never too young or too old to soar downhill on your sled!
Visit Kouchibouguac National Park (NB) and make your way to the hill at the Patterson Shelter via snowshoe or fat bike from the Pijeboogwek parking lot for some snow-filled fun.
In the evening, warm up by the fire at Petit-Large campground, located just 500 metres from the closest shelter and just over 3 km from the parking lot. Just bring your fire starters and lighters, fire pit and wood is provided.
Go on a winter hike
Discover the joys of trekking through sparkling snow, the satisfying crunch beneath your boots and the cool winter breeze in your lungs.
Head to Prince Albert National Park (SK) and put those legs to work! Snowshoe through shimmering blankets of snow along the beach area in Waskesiu, Kingsmere River or Boundary Bog. Don’t have snowshoes? Borrow some from the Hawood Inn in Waskesiu.
End your excursion inside the warming shelter in Waskesiu and make some hot chocolate over a wood fire. Make the most of the evening and enjoy drive-in camping in the comfort of your own tent at Paignton Beach or Birch Bay, each with access to firewood, pit toilets, and enclosed shelters.
Enjoy skiing for each style of adventure
What is better than sliding and gliding over freshly packed snow, the wind in your hair and the sun on your cheeks as you head past frost-tipped trees?
Visit one of the most beautiful cross-country ski centers in Quebec, exploring over 80-km of groomed trails equipped with shelters, perfect for classic or freestyle cross-country skiers alike in La Mauricie National Park (QC).
Extend your stay in the warmth of an oTENTik tent, located in the heart of the forest just steps from the trails.

Ride a Fat bike
Put those legs to work and keep the biking fun going even when the snow falls!
Discover over 50 km of snowy flat-packed multi-use trails in Jasper National Park (AB) near the townsite. Don't miss the trail to beautiful Pyramid Lake, it's well worth the climb!
To make it a true winter experience, why not brave the cold and camp at Wapiti Winter Campground (RV’s and trailers only) or take it to the next level at Whirlpool Winter Hub and camp in your winterized tent. Don’t forget to pack hot chocolate!
Ice Fish in a Winter Wonderland
Why let the joys of fishing end when the waters freeze over?
Let the crisp winter air awaken your senses as it blows over the frozen waters of Kathleen Lake in Kluane National Park and Reserve (YT). After securing your fishing licence, cast your line and catch kokanee, lake trout, rainbow trout or even arctic grayling. Let the beautiful winter scenery warm you from the inside— (In the comfort of your winter gear of course!), making sure to be familiar with these winter safety tips.
After your day of fishing comes to an end, set up camp in Kluane’s winter wonderland, where you can camp anywhere without a permit, except in the Icefields area.
